The central core material SKD11 (alloy tool steel) used for the blade edge is a performance steel that is incredibly rich in Carbon equal to the famed Yasuki Aogami, and is tempered to the Rockwell 62-64 for exceptional sharpness and edge holding and properties.

Originally SKD11 steel was created for cutting metal. Its suitability for knife edges' comes from its resistance to abrasion and its ability to hold a cutting edge.
The Japanese term “Nashiji” (English: Pear skin pattern) refers to the result of a technique that appears to leave the surface finish of a blade looking unfinished and rustic.

HANDMADE FORGING

With the traditional forging process, the molecules of the iron material are finely tuned, leading to the completion of a "living kitchen knife" that breathes.

DURABILITY

The process of heating and forging each material for mold making is repeated three or four times to quickly shape the blade and create durability before the carbon is released from the steel causing it to lose its original strength.

SHARPNESS

The blade is the most important factor in achieving the best possible sharpness. It is polished in our own blade factory to produce uncompromising sharpness.

HANDLE

The highest priority is placed on sturdiness, a sense of luxury, and a shape that is easy to grip and does not cause fatigue even after long hours of use.

Re: Return policy AND “Best Knives” statement

Question this, Why do they not accept returns when other retailers do? Could it be, say, if you found out that you paid too much and could have gotten as good as or better elsewhere for less and wanted to return your purchase, you can’t? 🤷🏻‍♂️ It could be for any number of reasons but is something to be questioned and wary of when dealing with a purchase from
A
Retailer that states they “can’t accept returns”.
My suggestion, deal with a retailer that does!

Also, how can ANY retailer state they have the “best” Japanese knife. Impossible claim to make to others. Think about it.

I dislike any deceptive business practices. Do your own research into any business that you decide to support and question if you really want to support that particular business and help perpetuate their practices, good or bad. Just a thought and something we should all consider.

Also, was “forced”
Into selecting a star rating when I’d rather not have to give a rating. That is kind of a silly thing to force. Rating as to what? Customer service could be one rating and product could be a different rating, return policy different again, etc…
Selected 1 star because couldn’t select nothing. What to do???!

IMHO, WAY Overpriced and a disservice to the actual craftsmen

WAY Overpriced in my opinion and they seem to take advantage of most buyer’s ignorance of Japanese knives as well as seeming to take advantage of the actual Japanese craftsman.
Buy your Japanese knives from actual Japanese craftsman and/or those that actually respect, honor and promote the actual makers. Research this company, its origin AND makeup of the founders, CEO, marketers, etc… founded as an online store in 2020 and then decided to add some “brick and mortar”
stores a few years later.
Just my 2 cents, wait, nickel’s worth (inflation) here. You do your own research. Personally, I would spend my money more wisely and support and acknowledge the craftsmen AND save money (specially in regards to what you are getting)…again, in my humble opinion. Do your own research. Go onto respected Japanese knife forums and see what others have to say as well. An informed buyer is a smart buyer.
