Gingami 3 is categorized to stainless steel for its 13-14.5% Chromium blending ratio. Although it’s a corrosion-resistant stainless steel, actual feel of cutting is closer to the high-end carbon steel, The edge is not slippy but significantly grabbing object fibers.

Another reason why professional chef selects Gingami 3 is a good affinity to whetstones at hand re-sharpening. The combination with the soft stainless SUS405 outer layer provides further easiness to the blade sharpening. Neo-Classic Nashiji finish gives irresistible appeal to the series as well. The combination with the soft stainless SUS405 outer layer provides further easiness to the blade sharpening.
The Japanese term “Nashiji” (English: Pear skin pattern) refers to the result of a technique that appears to leave the surface finish of a blade looking unfinished and rustic.

HANDMADE FORGING

With the traditional forging process, the molecules of the iron material are finely tuned, leading to the completion of a "living kitchen knife" that breathes.

DURABILITY

The process of heating and forging each material for mold making is repeated three or four times to quickly shape the blade and create durability before the carbon is released from the steel causing it to lose its original strength.

SHARPNESS

The blade is the most important factor in achieving the best possible sharpness. It is polished in our own blade factory to produce uncompromising sharpness.

HANDLE

The highest priority is placed on sturdiness, a sense of luxury, and a shape that is easy to grip and does not cause fatigue even after long hours of use.

One of the most beautiful knives ever handled in person. Cuts better than any American made or mass manufactured knife I’ve ever used.

Very Underwhelming

The edge is kinda sharp, but other than that I am not happy with the knife. The quality of the handle is super poor, and the handle is to big. Plus it’s offset about 20 degrees from being plum with the knife. They say it’s cut it’s handmade and can’t be returned in their FAQ’s but really it’s just very poor quality control. If you’re looking for an epoxy handle knife, you don’t want any of the ones in this line trust me.
Also my bro got a different knife from them, and it seems like they can’t set a straight handle on any of their knives. Honestly all the photos look way better than what will show up to your house. I would just skip this entire site. But their Kitchen Shears aren’t bad though

Excellent Service

I was really excited to buy myself a knife whilst in Japan. I was somewhat nervous about it though as I put a lot of weight on making the right decision so-to-speak. Luckily Gabriel and Zack were there to help me and both super patient with me. It was Gabriel who I initially asked about all the knives with and gave me a lot to sit on and consider. When we were back in Tokyo Zack helped me, told me all about the knife itself, some Musashi history and gave me a lot of confidence in my purchase.
